some things

I love the spring - well, maybe it's more summer than spring. I came home to see the sun shining through my Irises the other day - it was so beautiful and even more special because these Irises came from my parents house, the one I grew up in, dug up and shared just before they moved into a new house. And even better than that? They were transplanted from my grandpa's garden before they were transplanted from my dad's garden. I love that these plants have a history.

Is Maddy the only child who wants to pose with every headless "family" in Old Navy?

Did I mention I love the Spring? And Shoes. I love shoes.

Last Saturday we went to Seven Peaks with the first use of our "Pass of All Passes". It was so fun and free! Well, okay. I know it wasn't free. But if felt free because I paid for these last August. If felt free as we passed up the whole line and just walked in.

The bad part? Clearly the leaving! Always drama when we have to stop doing anything fun.

Today we had a Pinewood Derby at work. I didn't do a car because - well, woodworking is not really my thing. However, I think for next year I'll dig up the car I made in 8th grade Shop class and run that just for nostalgia. Clearly I won't win because these coworkers of mine are seriously talented. But it would be fund to participate.

Did a little golfing last weekend before going to Seven Peaks with Maddy. I think it was a record - the greatest number of hours I've been outside in a day and not received a horrid sunburn. Sunscreen is a miracle - if you apply it.

Last and best, my baby sister had a baby boy. Hello cute nephew.
