I know, there are just too many pictures but we are crazy ladies having too much fun.

The picture above with us all laughing was after the Jet Star 2 ride where we laughed and laughed and laughed becuase we were so squished and jerked around. Such a fun day.

September Happenings

September included a trip to see where Aunt Hayley and Uncle Cody might buy a house. Of course, Maddy managed to get filthy in the process but what is an evening outside in the dirt worth if you don't wear it at the end?


Scott has been moving along in the bathroom making spots for my recessed medicine cabinets. The progress is slow but very exciting to see. Before and After pictures will be very telling of the amount of work that he put into this (and every) project. He really is a talented guy. I'm so pleased that he can do what he does around our house and that he is patient with all my ideas.






At the beginning of September was our annual XANGO convention. For the first time, we didn't have it in Salt Lake so it involved a trip away from home to Las Vegas. I do enjoy convention. I love helping people and jumping in wherever I can to make peoples lives a bit easier whether that is a co-worker, a vendor, or most of all at this time, our distributors from around the world.



I've somehow become the designer of the 360 degree display cases and have found that you just have to climb up inside them in order to do a good job. It's fun to find anything and everything to stack under fabric to create levels- and also surprisingly difficult to make sure that it looks good from all sides. I wish I had taken a picture of my two finished products but instead, just got this one of me inside.






Also in September Sarah and I were extras for the "Saturday's Warrior" filming. Sarah and Katie had already done a scene in Sugarhouse park and Sarah was in a scene in a train station in Davis county and I was excited to have a turn. We were told to bring several 70s outfits to try on for the costume folks to make sure that we looked authentic. After waiting outside the studio in Midvale for a long time, we were finally ushered in and became the crowd for a show put on by Jimmy Flinders' band "Warrior". It was hot, we shot the sequence many times, but it was really fun to be a part of the movie. I was hopeful that I might have gotten some screen time because I thought I was a very good screaming fan.


And to round it out, a photo of some of my favorite co-workers Dustin Gardner, Yoko Little, and Leslie Gallacher. It's nice to have friends even when the discussions are often hard and there are lots of challenges to keeping a business going, but we always are able to do it with smiles and fun.

Ladies Who Lagoon

 

Georgia sent an email mid-July or so and said that she wanted to go to Lagoon. This email was to the "Ladies Who Lunch" my singing friends, who are Sarah, Katie, Sally, Linda and Georgia. I think we were all figuring she was kidding to begin with because we don't get together to do things except sing, go to concerts, perform in concerts, rehearse, record, maybe once in a while get lunch. Lagoon was a big departure from our normal routine.

 

 

Georgia was so excited and adamant that we go however, and we are so glad that we did. The only negative (well, besides my getting a bit sick to my stomach after riding The Spider) was that Sally wasn't able to join us. Many times in the day we lamented "I wish Sally was here". We rode almost everything, we took way too many pictures, and we laughed and laughed and laughed and laughed.

 

There was lots of Instagram and facebook posting and "oh, that's a great picture, send it to me" sharing of pictures.

In the Pioneer Village we decided that it was probably appropriate that we take an old timey photo together. Hilarious.

 

We took a break here and there and saw a performance.

 

The White Roller Coaster

Lagoon has a new ride called Cannibal and I was a little worried about my sensitive stomach. Your car goes up a very high elevator and then the doors open at the top and you can't see the track underneath you as you go out and it undercuts back on itself a bit. It was really fun but did make me a little nervous when my eyesight blacked out. I didn't actually go unconscious but coming out of a turn I lost sight completely and had we not pulled out of it I'm sure I would have passed out. However, it was worth it and the second time around it wasn't as bad. Super fun ride.

Because there were 5 of us (shoot Sally!) we had to take turns being a lone rider once and awhile but it wasn't that big of a deal. On Jet Star 2 we actually rode three together and kept slamming into eachother and could not stop laughing on the ride nor for about 20 minutes afterwards. It really was a fun day to hang with a bunch of old ladies doing nothing of importance and giggling till our cheeks hurt.

August in Review

Interestingly enough, it is August 8, 2016 and we are getting ready for school to start again. I have basically missed an entire year of blogs. Katie and I were talking about blog books and she said, why bother entering things into a blog and then printing that to a book - why not just type and post pictures right into the book. She's given up on the blog as the vehicle to capture family history and gone straight to books. Unfortunately, the service I use to print my blog books doesn't allow for direct input so, I guess I will continue to sporadically, update the blog. In order for these next few posts to actually print in a 2015 book, I'll back date them though I don't normally do that. So, here we go, what has been happening in the past year ??!!

Scott and I joined the Ericksons and the Sandersons in a Mystery Escape Room date night. Two other couples we didn't know were locked in a room with us where we were given an hour to solve a multitude of puzzles in an effort to unlock the three locks on the door and get out of the room before it blew up. We were about 30 seconds short, but what a fun activity. We were all surprised at how enjoyable the activity was. I was surprised at how much basic math (multiplying fractions!) I've lost in the years since elementary school. For the next few days my mind continually went back to the date and I kept thinking, if I had just solved that problem a little quicker, or caught on to that riddle faster. Fun date night with fun couples. We finished up the night at Leatherby's so that made everything even more perfect.

Also fun this month was seeing Julianne make her debut performance in professional theater at CenterPoint Legacy Theatre. To my delight, she was in "Guys and Dolls" which is one of my favorite memories from 9th grade having performed in it myself. She was a 'mission doll' and Maddy and I were able to see her perform on a preview night, joined by Katie and her girls. Maddy LOVED it and sang "Luck be a lady tonight" for days afterwards. She was afraid to take pictures with the boys but desperately wanted pictures taken with the beautiful female leads.





 

XANGO needed a foursome to play in a fundraiser for UofU Gymnastics. Funny thing however was that the four of us that played were all BYU fans. We didn't blatantly flaunt our preference for teams with BYU logos, however, I think it was probably pretty clear which team we prefer. We were the only team all decked out in blue. In my defense, the only blue I had was my hat and it was the one that I golf in. Hopefully we didn't offend and they still got money out of the company to support the cause. It was fun golfing with my buddies Austin Gunn, Billy McCleary and Jason Gough.

 

 

 

We got a call from the Millennium Choir folks that Lex was recording the theme song from "Saturday's Warrior". What a thrill to be invited to record such an iconic song! They also took some video of the choir recording so that it could be used maybe during credits or in a "making of" someday. really fun to do these kinds of neat things with my sisters and my singing sisters.
